Introduction to Media :

camerawork movement: 1) Pick three aspects of camera movement in the Minority Report clip. fluid tracking shot

1.fluid tracking shots: The camera smoothly follows characters as they navigate their environment, creating a sense of immediacy and immersion. This technique helps viewers feel as though they are part of the action.

2.Dynamic Panning and Tilting: The camera frequently pans and tilts to capture fast-paced sequences, particularly during chase scenes. This adds excitement and a heightened sense of urgency, emphasising the tension of the moment.

2.Unconventional Angles: The use of low and high angles creates a disorienting effect, often reflecting the protagonist's psychological state. These angles can make the environment feel more oppressive or chaotic, enhancing the film's overall atmosphere.

2) Pick two aspects of editing in the Minority Report clip and write about what effect it has on the audience.
1.Rapid Cuts: The use of quick cuts during action sequences creates a sense of urgency and adrenaline. This editing style keeps the audience on the edge of their seats, enhancing the tension of the chase scenes. By rapidly shifting between different angles and perspectives, the viewer experiences the chaos and unpredictability of the protagonist's situation, making them feel more involved in the narrative.
2.Cross-Cutting: The technique of cross-cutting between different scenes or storylines heightens the emotional stakes and builds suspense. By interweaving various narrative threads, the audience is kept engaged as they anticipate how these elements will converge. This creates a sense of inevitability and foreboding, making viewers more invested in the outcome of the characters' actions.

3) Finally, revise last week's work on camerawork by picking out two shots or camera angles in the clip that communicate meaning to the audience.
1.Over-the-Shoulder Shots: These shots are often used during conversations between characters, like when John Anderton interacts with his team. This angle creates a sense of intimacy and involvement, making the audience feel like part of the dialogue and emphasizing the tension in their discussions about pre-crime.
2.Low-Angle Shots: When the futuristic cityscape is presented, low-angle shots highlight the towering structures and technology. This perspective conveys a sense of awe and the overwhelming power of the surveillance system, illustrating the theme of control versus freedom in the narrative.

Camerawork: blog tasks:1) Pick three camera shots from the Doctor Who scene and explain what type of shot it is and what meanings or effect they have on the audience. a medium shot makes the scene looks tall and big  , long shot makes the scene smaller close up shot. zoomed in the background and the character

2) Pick one camera angle that is used in the scene and explain the effect it has on the audience. short- it shoes  the background and the person appearance  high  angle explains  the emotions and perspective

3) Pick one aspect of mise-en-scene from the scene and explain what connotations are being communicated to the audience.
The mise-en-scene slightly impacts the overall mood of the audience as they watch the film the same way our emotional response is influenced by the decor, lighting, smells and sounds. Mise-en-scene involves everything the audience hears, sees and experiences while watching a film.

mise-en-scene; stranger things analysis: mise-en-scene; stranger things analysis:

1. Setting:
The small-town setting of Hawkins, Indiana, feels authentic with its suburban homes, local schools, and forests. This normalcy contrasts sharply with the dark, decaying Upside Down, highlighting the theme of hidden danger.

2. Lighting:
The show relies heavily on low-key lighting to create tension, especially in scenes involving the Upside Down. The flickering Christmas lights in Joyce’s home, used to communicate with Will, are a perfect example of turning everyday objects into suspenseful symbols.

3. Costumes:
Costume design firmly places us in the 1980s, with characters wearing era-appropriate clothes. Eleven’s pink dress and blonde wig show her attempt to blend in, while later outfits reflect her growing independence.

4. Props:
Key props like the kids' walkie-talkies and the Dungeons & Dragons game are more than just nostalgic—they symbolize teamwork and how the kids face the unknown. Eggo waffles, associated with Eleven, represent her evolving personality and humanity.

5. Performance and Blocking:
The characters’ body language and positioning in scenes often reflect their emotional connections. The group’s closeness, especially in dangerous moments, emphasizes the themes of friendship and loyalty.
